Oversteek naar Engeland

Dear sailing enthusiast,

Our first sailing trip has already finished, last weekend we sailed up and down to Ramsgate to have a beer and to test the new engine in practice… what a power and what a beautiful sound and all without smoke or smell!

The sailing voyage was great with beautiful weather and excellent company, which is why we are going to do it again this autumn, from 16 to 20 October.

Our new season will start on 30 May and we are happy to have full confidence in our fancy quietly running engine. It does not fume and also makes little noise.
So when we turn the engine on, which will not often happen, we can enjoy it! Will you be joining us as well this summer to listen to this beautiful sound?

The new engine

At the end of November, in wind and rain, we sail to Neutmast in Middelharnis, where the mast comes off for new shrouds and tensioners. Two days later, with no strong wind, but hail showers, we sail futher to Hellevoetsluis where the old engine is to be be replaced.

During the whole progress one could say that it is not really warm, especially with the hatches and doors constantly open and even the peanut butter is not spreadable due to the cold. Fortunately, it is a lot more pleasant in Thomas’ workshop and he has good coffee.

Noorwegen - fjord bij Bergen

Sail along with us!

This coming season, we will sail to the Shetland Islands and Norway. In Norway, we will enter one fjord per sailing voyage and then we will go island-hopping. Weather, wind and tide determine our destination and there are lots of possibilities, including, of course, beautiful walks. Feel like getting a breath of fresh air? There are still a few spots available on various sailing trips.

On the sail training from Rotterdam to Scotland, from 30 May to 9 June, 1 spot has become available due to a cancellation.
On the mile maker from Stavanger to Edinburgh, from 16 September to 25 September, 2 spots have become available due to a cancellation.
Additional sailing trip: long weekend to England and back from 16 to 20 October.
